SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY WELLNESS AND RESOURCE FAIR IN LEMON GROVE OFFERS VITAL SUPPORT TO NEIGHBORS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS

LEMON GROVE, CA (November 16, 2024) – Today, community members gathered in Lemon Grove for a free Wellness and Resource Fair to provide crucial services to neighbors experiencing homelessness

The Wellness and Resource Fair featured a variety of services to address immediate needs and offer long-term solutions, including hot showers, hygiene supplies, housing navigation services, vaccinations, pet services, connection and assistance with vital documents, and mental health support.

San Diego County Supervisor Monica Montgomery Steppe, who organized this event, expressed gratitude for the community's collaboration, stating, "We are committed to meeting people where they are and offering services that provide immediate relief and pathways to stability. This event reflects our belief in the power of community and compassion to make a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors. I'm fully committed to closing the many systemic gaps to ensure we highlight the importance of all of our community members being treated with dignity and respect."

The event follows a series of efforts to bring County services to the City of Lemon Grove, which has counted 111 unsheltered community members in the 2024 Point In Time Count. The event also underscored the ongoing commitment to provide holistic, trauma-informed care for those experiencing homelessness, particularly in the Lemon Grove and East County areas.
