Jenny Yoo Williams is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brown University and has a law degree and Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown University Law Center. During law school, she worked as a legal intern for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Cairo, Egypt. She worked at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, an international law firm, where she represented companies in business litigation. She served as a career law clerk to two Chief Judges of the U.S District Court for the Southern District of California. Jenny previously served as a Policy Advisor for then San Diego City Councilmember Monica Montgomery Steppe and as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the San Diego City Council.
Jenny is the proud founder of the Korean American Bar Association of San Diego, and a founding member of the Korean American Coalition of San Diego and the San Diego Asian American Legal Education Fund. She has served as Regional Governor of San Diego County and Orange County for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and as Treasurer and Advisory Committee member for the Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego. She has also provided pro bono representation in Immigration Court to asylum seekers and detained unaccompanied children seeking reunification with their families.
