Ruth Carter is a San Diego native, bilingual Visual and Performing Arts Educator, and traveling visual storyteller whose work centers on cultural diversity, inclusion, and representation through digital media. As an award-winning Sony Alpha Female, she uses photography, filmmaking, and multimedia storytelling to highlight the beauty, humanity, and resilience of underrepresented cultures, communities, and people of color.

 Driven by a passion for amplifying marginalized voices, Ruth’s work serves as a platform for stories that are often overlooked. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts (Radio, Television, and Film) from Clark Atlanta University, a Master of Fine Arts in Television Production from Loyola Marymount University, and a Master of Science in Mindfulness, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Yoga Teacher Training through the Breathe For Change Educator Program.

 With extensive experience in commercial, television, and documentary production, Ruth has developed a deep understanding of the importance of authentic representation in media. Her work seeks to foster greater awareness, visibility, and inclusion, particularly within Afro-Latino communities, while inspiring meaningful dialogue across cultures.
